Furthermore, there are a number of charter schools in and around the San Antonio area. In addition to these options, there is also the possibility of homeschooling.

Now, just how do you find the right school for your child or children? What’s the best option in San Antonio? Is it a public school, private school, charter school, or homeschooling?

Well, the answer really depends on your ultimate goal (and personal preferences, of course). First of all, let’s start with a widespread misconception. Private schools are better than public schools for future education and career success. This is a common misbelief and there is almost no statistical data to back it up. In fact, there isn’t any widely-accepted, credible research which shows children who attend a private school do better in higher education or in a career.

Now, let’s move on to logistics. You probably want a nearby school for the sake of convenience. Also, you want to know the curriculum, as well as the school’s track record for graduation rates.

The good news is this is all available through either the internet or easy to access, inside sources.

Another consideration is your own personal beliefs. If you prefer a school that offers a religious environment, this is where private schools make a lot more sense. However, if you want a school that focuses on STEM or Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, you might reconsider.
